Trip to Tahoe

A few weeks ago we took a wonderful trip to South Lake Tahoe and stayed at our friend's house for three nights. It was a much needed break from just our everyday life. The house was gorgeous and had a spa on the deck which Michael and I used every night after Michaiah went to bed. It was such a relaxing weekend and it was so nice to spend time together, just the three of us, with nothing that we absolutely HAD to do (except of course Michael had an English paper to do for school).

We went for a beautiful hike up to Granite Lake and it had a beautiful view of Emerald Bay as well. We thought it would be an easy flat hike, but it was quite the opposite, especially with a 20+ lb baby and backpack on your back (sorry Michael). Anyway, we made it and it was spectacular.

Granite Lake...finally!

Weird looking tree.

Is this poisonous? Better not touch it just to be sure.

Michaiah's Dedication

June 12, 2011 was a special day as Michaiah was dedicated to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We pray that we can be an example to her and that we can help her walk with the Lord as she grows and matures.

My First Swim Lesson

Michaiah had her first swim lessons with her daddy and she seems like a natural. She was so adorable in her little bathing suit with her chubby little legs and arms. She was a natural...must be the 10 months she was swimming around in mommy's tummy! She picked up on the kicking right away.

Memorial Day - Pig Roast

OK, so I know that this post comes about a month and half late, but I still wanted to be able to showcase Michael's first whole animal roast. The lucky animal was a pig that ended up sitting on my counter while we tried to figure out what to cut off since it was a little too heavy for the motor on the spit. I have to admit that it was pretty disgusting seeing this whole animal in all its nakedness, sitting there helplessly waiting to get marinated. It just kinda gives you the hibijibi's (sp?).

It was more work than I would have thought roasting a pig and getting it on the spit. Thanks to my dad and Michael though, they got it on and began roasting it early that morning for our afternoon BBQ. When it was done I must say that to my surprise, it was really yummy and tasty. It was cooked to perfection! So tender and juicy....mmmmm.

Thank you to Mom & Dad for all of your help that day! We truly appreciate it.
