Michaiah may now be able to hear both mine and Michael's voice as we talk to each other. She's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of hers lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when she's born and takes that first gulp of air. She now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (and English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. And she's continuing to put on a special layer of fat which acts as an insulator, keeping baby warm in the weeks after birth.
